“Ask, and it will be given to you;…” — Matthew 7:7 (NIV)
In this simple yet profound verse, Jesus invites us into a relationship of trust and dependence with our Heavenly Father. He doesn’t call us to figure everything out on our own or to rely solely on our strength. Instead, He encourages us to come to God with our needs, our dreams, and even our doubts.
Asking is an act of faith. It reminds us that we are not self-sufficient, but that God is our provider, our guide, and our comfort. When we ask, we open our hearts to His wisdom, His timing, and His love. Sometimes the answer comes quickly; other times, we wait. But in every moment, God is working for our good.
Today, take a moment to bring your requests—big or small—before God. Trust that He hears you and delights in your dependence on Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me to come to You with my every need. Help me to trust in Your goodness and timing as I bring my requests before You. Open my heart to receive Your answers, and strengthen my faith as I wait. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
